As my three loyal readers might know, I was sequestered on the ship for two months.  I had to face disciplinary action which I will not comment on due to ongoing processes that commentary could harm.  Long story short, I was charged with suspicion of DUI and got busted.  I am now in Japan going to school for one more week.  I am also an HT2 again.  The school content is also sensitive, and therefore, I won’t have much to blog about until late next week.

This will be my last transmission for one to two months. I may end up stuck on the ship for that time period.

I am not well educated by most standards.  A lot of what I learned, I learned by either reading on my own, or doing.  I have a HS diploma, and various certificates of completion for military courses.  More than one thing, I learned the hard way.  For example, I learned what the word hot meant on a motorcycle tailpipe.  Dad and Mom both warned me. 

Today I was asked a question I had to use the Internet for help.  It turns out that a group of ducks is called a paddle.

What in the heck do you do when your girlfriend’s son from an earlier relationship calls you daddy?  I just chuckled and in my best Guam dialect said, in a nice way, “What boy boy?”  Boy boy is a gentle way locals refer to any young male child.  I reckon her and I will talk about that when I give her a ride to school(college. you sickos).

I was reading Old NFO(http://oldnfo.blogspot.com/) this morning and decided to add him to the blogroll.  His most recent posts deal with the watering down of the can do spirit America was once famous for.  Other posts deal with traveling and political commentary.  If you like this blog, his is right up your alley.  Not to mention, he’s a mustang, and those are the best kind of officers.

That quote is part of a sailor’s lexicon from the beginning.  Some, such as myself, have firefighting related tasks as part of their rate.  At this point in my career, I am expected to be able to boil down technicalities to bite size bits for the novice.  I have develped a few basic firefighting rules for newbies, some have been borrowed from my teachers.

• Find it hot, leave it wet.  If it’s wet its not burning.
• Make a big hole a small hole by jamming crap into it.
• Take your time, but quickly.
• Don’t be a hero.  John Wayne is dead.
• Ship comes before mate for a reason.

HOWEVER, what I do have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes to people who don’t have to pass a urine test.  Shouldn’t one have to pass a urine test to get a welfare check because I have to pass one to earn it for them?  

  Understand – I have no problem with helping people get back on their feet. I do on the other hand have a problem with helping someone sit on their ass, drink beer and smoke dope.  Could you imagine how much money this country would save if people had to pass a urine test to get a public assistance check?

I am currently on vacation in order to reduce my leave days to a more agreeable number.  Labor Day was yesterday out here due to the International Dateline.  We learned a good drinking game(is there such thing as a bad drinking game?) at a barbecue the other day.  Take all face cards including Aces and put them face down four by four.  Any Jack equals pick someone to take a drink.Any Queen equals make a rule(like the game P and A), the first three Kings are fill the community cup and the last King has to drink the contents of the cup.  Any Ace is everybody drink.  This was taught to us by the same USAFR LT that was my re-enlisting officer.  He also happens to be our neighbor and good friend.

I briefly mentioned a Chinese lady in a few of my posts.  After we got to know each other, I realized that she was not the kind of lady I was looking for.  All signs are pointing to a good relationship with a local girl.  She has a son.  As a child of divorced parents, that doesn’t bother me.  Not to mention, I am not exactly a candidate for sainthood.

I was in PA for my younger brother’s wedding.  Due to my job, I sometimes don’t get home for a while.  One distant step cousin was a toddler last time I saw her.  She is now nearly in Jr. High.  My sister was in diapers last time I saw her.  She is now potty trained and going to school.

The wedding was a storybook wedding.  My new sister in law and her son are wonderful.
