Pull up a fender and come alongside.

After reading many other blogs, I figured I would give it a try.  As you have probably guessed by my username or the title of this post, I am a sailor.  This blog is going to contain incoherent ramblings about stuff that aggravates, amuses, or otherwise stimulates this sailor.

Here from MostlyCajun, where I’ve been lurking for a while. First, from an old veteran, thank you for your service to our country. Secondly, from an old sailor, shouldn’t it be come alongside and drop a fender (or two)? :)

Good to see you posting, sir. I’ll look forward to reading more.

Ahoy shipmate. What ship? Retired OS1 here. Dave- He’s a Snipe, not Deck, so give him a break.

    Cheers,

About the fender thing. It is a phrase some CPOs use when they are about to redirect a sailor or JOs misguided efforts. I always thought it sounded cool. I have even used it once or twice with a couple of young FN when I needed to guide them.
